Langyu’s Intelligent Manufacturing Withstands the Test of Typhoon "Yagi

2024-09-10

On September 6, Typhoon Yagi (No. 11 of the season) made landfall in Wenchang, Hainan, setting a new record for the intensity of autumn typhoons affecting China since 1949. It maintained super typhoon strength at Category 17 for up to 64 hours. The Boao Dongyu Island Tourism Resort, located just 60 kilometers from the landfall point in Wenchang, bore the brunt of this powerful typhoon. The resort’s wayfinding and signage system, constructed by Zhejiang Langyu—especially the 15-meter-high, 21-meter-wide iconic entrance sign—faced this severe test. Throughout Typhoon Yagi’s impact on Hainan, the safety of the signage remained a constant concern for both the resort management committee and Langyu Group’s leadership.

◎Digital Intelligent Early Warning System

At the critical moment, Langyu’s Digital Intelligent Early Warning System played a vital role. Using the Langyu Cloud AI Vision Model, it continuously analyzed safety data of the entrance sign structure. After the typhoon passed, feedback confirmed that the resort’s wayfinding and signage system remained largely intact. In particular, the entrance sign demonstrated excellent wind resistance and structural stability under extreme weather conditions, thanks to its robust foundation and high-quality design and construction, successfully overcoming the challenge posed by a severe typhoon like Yagi.
